Urban Safari

Hello, pretty ladies! I am pleased to tell you today about the safari jacket. It was designed to be worn by British soldiers in countries with warm climates, like India.
Later, in the twentieth century, it became very popular as it was practical and easy to wear on adventures in the African savannah.
The classical model is long sleeved, light color so not to retain heat, has a "trench style" belt, four plus pockets and shoulder straps.
Today I'm wearing a Bush Jacket, the short sleeve version of the Safari Jacket. This trend caught, being especially useful to photographers who could use the pockets for lenses, film and other accessories. It seems difficult to insert it in an outfit for a day out and even more so with high heels, but challenges make us more creative.
Hope you enjoy it! At least I did, wearing it! ;)
Have a great day!

Hearts

My heart is like a train station where trains arrive or depart. Some remain forever. It is difficult to comprehend how, in such a small place, you can store places, countries even, years, moments, colours, fragrances, dear people or pets. Sometimes, bits of it remain in a beautiful place or with people we love, that are far away.
They say "home is where your heart is" ... but if your heart is filled with places? A piece of it maybe got stuck on a mountain top where you looked into the distance and forgot to breathe for a few seconds ...
My heart is here, where I love;  is with my family;  is in Italy, with my sister which I miss so much; it's back in my country;  it's in all the countries that I lived in and been happy; is wherever the dog that has been my best friend is.
Make Home, wherever you are and enjoy the nostalgia of walking through each room of your heart!
Love, Nelly.

Christening by the sea

Greetings! I hope you are all well and you have a wonderful begining of spring! Last week, our friend Constantinos' son was christened and we were invited to take part to this great event.

Weather, location, everything was lovely! I lived with excitement the little one's baptism, I met again dear friends, and I ended the day with a nice walk on the seashore.

Nomad

The gypsy look, otherwise known as a bohemian feel, is a daring comeback in the fashion industry. This event has as guidelines some fashion setters from the 70's. A rebirth of the hippie culture, beyond fashion, this trend is a state of mind and a way of life for others. Long dresses, cut jeans and  flower prints are only some of the main features found at Woodstock. Now, theese trends can be seen on the streets, especially during the summer. It is a style that inspires me freedom and lust for life.

DIY boots and necklace

Hello, darlings!
Today's post is somewhat special because it's starring the boots I myself have customized.  Surfing through blogs I have encountered similar models and I wanted to see the cost. Around 400$ !... I decided to make them myself :)
I had a pair of boots I was about to throw away, just perfect to sacrifice! It took a little work, and I was also lucky that there is a shop in the area where you can get all kinds of accessories, but it was the greatest satisfaction in the end. I just love them!
The rest of the outfit: inspired by Boho style, a style that i think it suits me and that I like very much. The sweater ... I insisted on wearing it, though it adds about three extra kilos to the at least six I have to spare!...
And finally, the necklace I've put it together from the leftovers, after finishing the boots.
I hope you like it.
See you soon!

Essay about a rainy day

I don't know about where you're at, but on this island it rains quite rarely. And the last few years, even less. So whenever it happens, to me is reason for joy. I was getting tired of wearing my rubber boots only when I was washing the front porch. It's true that, for this session, I got lucky that it didn't rain as heavy as it ussualy does...

  See you soon!

Perforated top, lace origami skirt & New Year retrospective!

I learned that I am a mosaic composed of the people I met, of the choices I made and of my actions, that I draw my own portrait and that people find it enough to believe you

Lilac

The first post of the year...
Photos were taken in Protaras, 10 km from home, on one of the shopping days for New Year's Eve. Even if it's winter, I don't miss an opportunity to wear a little bit of colour. The trench, I rescued it for a few euros about four years ago from a trifted shop in Paralimni. I paired it with a vintage Topshop blouse and I kept it simple by completing the rest with black. Voilà! Hope you like it.

Vintage is always in fashion. Plaid shirt.

Hello everybody!
I can't believe I took this shots two days ago! Today I'm freezing! It must be the worst day of the year. It's raining and it feels like the wind will blow everything away. I bought this shirt last winter from the H&M Divided collection. When I was about thirteen I wore in school an almost identical one. Me, my boyfriend and also about ten more classmates. Who was not wearing  red, had a green one. Funny times!...
I choose to match the shirt with a navy skirt, mirror lens sunglasses  a pair of leather boots, all vintage.
I hope you like it! See you soon!
