Kamea and Chihuahua

Today I am wearing a dress I thrifted for a few euros from a local store and I am lucky enough to have some time for a few shots.
I remember surfing the fashion blogs some years ago and seeing so many expensive brands and not daring to dream about my own blog.
A beautiful style does not mean expensive clothes. You can dress well, you can be beautiful, fashionable, even if you make your own clothes or buy them at second hand shops.
So, my dear, if today you find yourself with a low self esteem, I write for you to know that you can do it, too.
I am known among my friends as a bargains hunter ... maybe it's a talent I have developed over time.
If I have a budget for shopping, I prefer the sales period,
Many times I have been lucky to find that and the last available pair of  some shoes I loved was my size and reduced with 70%. I  would give up any day any Mall in Dubai for a bazaar in Morocco.
I have no problem to look for a vintage item in a charity shop. It's a whole adventure and you'll be amazed what you can find there.
I'm exchanging clothes with my girlfriend whenever we get bored of something and I'm receiving donations also (hahaha!)...
Cheers to Alexia, as she added a few pounds and she had to donate me a bag full of goodies!
Aaah, and sometimes I steal from my sister <3.

Preppy match

This look is very much like what I wear every day to work. Minus the skirt lenght. The preppy style has made its mark on the way I dress, maybe since the time of my first job. From Ivy League school campuses, this style has come to be reflected in the wardrobes of  professional women and in several of the major desingners' collections. Classical ensembles, often worn by women entrepreneurs on the East Coast and not only, include tailored skirt suits, low heels, wrap dresses, silk or cotton blouses and exquisite jewelry. Such clothing often includes elements drawn from typical preppy style like nautical stripes, pastel or equestrian details. Baseline examples of the preppy style include Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, Gloria Guinness, Babe Paley, Slim Keith or CZ Guest- all women whose style is often referred by designers.

Stripes walking free near Cape Greco

Hello, everyone! Welcome summer!
It has been a while since I last posted and I rushed today to upload a short post.
On my friend's birthday, I spent a beautiful day by the sea, so I got the chance of taking some shots. The outfit is simple and confortable, perfect for a day outdoors.
I am beeing generous with the photos because I know for sure you will enjoy the scenery. They are taken somewhere near Cape Greco, Protaras, Cyprus. If you intend to visit, do not write your name on the tables! It's not fashionable here :)
See you soon!

Mirror lenses and mustard

I don't always follow trends. When it comes to what we wear, we dress according to our personality and/or the mood we're in. I like to know what the suggestions of the great designers are and, occasionally, some match my style or they suit me at first sight. Today I chose two of the options you will see increasingly often this summer: the mirror shades and mustard. If the sunglasses didn't convinced in "The Matrix", now you can find them in various shapes and I'm sure you can find a pair to your liking. They look good with casual, bohemian outfits, at summer festivals and especially on holidays together with vaporous dresses. If you go with mustard it change your day - it's a cheerful colour, full of positive energy. For top results pair it with dark colours in order to highlight it. Also try matching mustard with dark chocolate, burnt orange, turquoise or emerald green to give an autumn touch to your outfit, with a perfect harmony of colours.
If none of these suit you, try wearing a smile. It will look gorgeous on you!

Earth Day

Hi everyoneNice to see you againI hope you are well and that you all had a wonderful Easter!
On April 22nd we celebrate Earth Day. It is the day when people from 190 countries around the world, unite and demand support for environmental protection. Every year they plant trees, collect garbage, save energy. A nice example and also a warning sign.
I tried, in my own way, to remind you that nature is beautiful and we should appreciate her beauty today and every day for that matter.
We can all help more and more often.
How do you feel about recycling clothes?

Quilted

Easter is coming and I would not have missed the opportunity to wish you a Happy Easter and thank you for all your support over a nice year.
I will not give you advice on what you can cook on this occasion (there are others who do a thousand times better than me), or even what to wear.
Whatever you might choose, trust yourselves!

The catcher in the rye

I love things that have a story to tell!
The story of Holden Caulfield, told with shaded humor by Salinger, I received it at the exact age when I needed to know that I wasn't the only one who was frustrated,  betrayed in love, polite when I was feeling the need not to be... It was back when I still thought that I can change the world.
I remembered the novel not by accident and by this means I would like to thank a pretty lady.
I had the rye field and a dress since i was eighteen.
My turn to be the catcher...

Urban Safari

Hello, pretty ladies! I am pleased to tell you today about the safari jacket. It was designed to be worn by British soldiers in countries with warm climates, like India.
Later, in the twentieth century, it became very popular as it was practical and easy to wear on adventures in the African savannah.
The classical model is long sleeved, light color so not to retain heat, has a "trench style" belt, four plus pockets and shoulder straps.
Today I'm wearing a Bush Jacket, the short sleeve version of the Safari Jacket. This trend caught, being especially useful to photographers who could use the pockets for lenses, film and other accessories. It seems difficult to insert it in an outfit for a day out and even more so with high heels, but challenges make us more creative.
Hope you enjoy it! At least I did, wearing it! ;)
Have a great day!

Hearts

My heart is like a train station where trains arrive or depart. Some remain forever. It is difficult to comprehend how, in such a small place, you can store places, countries even, years, moments, colours, fragrances, dear people or pets. Sometimes, bits of it remain in a beautiful place or with people we love, that are far away.
They say "home is where your heart is" ... but if your heart is filled with places? A piece of it maybe got stuck on a mountain top where you looked into the distance and forgot to breathe for a few seconds ...
My heart is here, where I love;  is with my family;  is in Italy, with my sister which I miss so much; it's back in my country;  it's in all the countries that I lived in and been happy; is wherever the dog that has been my best friend is.
Make Home, wherever you are and enjoy the nostalgia of walking through each room of your heart!
Love, Nelly.
